I loved those heels, oh, how I did,
They knew my feet, and every step they hid.
They carried me through places, days, and nights,
Through wrong turns, grand entrances, and city lights.
They were soft where they needed to be,
Steady enough to carry me.
So comfortable, so perfectly worn,
A little piece of me, from dusk till morn.
They carried stories, laughter, and tears,
Through beautiful days and difficult years.
I trusted their rhythm, I knew every stride,
They were always there, right by my side.
But slowly, slowly, they started to sway,
A little more wobbly with each passing day.
I tried to ignore it, to carry on through,
As we sometimes do with the things that once knew.
Until one day, with a crack and a sigh,
They broke beneath me and so did my why.
But perhaps that is life, in its curious way:
Some things are meant to end, however we pray.
Not because they were wrong,
Not because love was gone,
But because the road had changed,
And I had changed along.
My toes were aching, my heels were worn,
Somewhere along the way, the old ones broke and were torn.
They wobbled beneath me, no longer felt right,
Too small for the woman I’ve become overnight.
So I changed my heels, not just for the pain,
But because old shoes couldn’t walk this terrain.
Some chapters are finished, some paths we outgrow,
And sometimes new heels are the only way to go.
So here’s to the blisters, the bruises, the scars,
To walking through storms and still reaching the stars.
To every old heel that carried me through,
And every new step that feels more like me, too.
Here’s to new heels, with a little more flair,
To dancing through life with wind in my hair.
To roads I’ve not walked, to places unknown,
To finding new magic in making my own.
The old heels had stories,
The old heels had grace,
They carried me beautifully
from place to place.
But their chapter is finished,
and that’s not goodbye
It’s simply the moment
to reach a little higher,
to walk a little lighter,
and let new heels fly.
So here’s to new heels.
Here’s to new ground.
Here’s to the woman
who keeps walking around.
Still curious. Still dreaming.
Still choosing what’s new.
Still walking forward
in heels that fit me, too. 👠✨
